Joseph and Anna (Workman) Bascom on their honeymoon in 1863. (Joseph and Anna later adopted my great-grandmother Gertrude Thomas when she was orphaned as a young child.)

Love the photo, Jen. Was Gertrude related to Joseph and Anna? Love the dress but can’t imagine chasing around after toddlers in that, can you? Thanks for sharing.
Cindy
No, they weren’t related. My understanding is that Gertrude’s mother and Anna were good friends and when her mother died Anna and Joseph took Gertrude in. And while I think it would be fun to try on a dress like that, I’m really thankful I don’t have to live my life in one!
Beautiful photo. Was Joseph Bascom a physician born in Uxbridge. On. and practised there for many years? Sandy
Dr. Bascom was a brother-in-law of an ancestor of mine. Sandy
Joseph and Anna raised my great grandmother, Florence Maud Moore when her mother, Emily died. Emily was Jo’s sister. I am Joseph Moore Bishop’s granddaughter. I hadn’t seen Dr (Uncle) Joe Bascom before. Thanks for posting the photo.
